Background:

The school is situated in 'delightful' countryside overlooking the East Sussex national golf course and the South Downs. Its main building dates from 1855 when the school first opened, with further classrooms added in 1968 and 1971. Further new facilities include a library opened in 1993. A major rebuilding programme is in the pipeline to replace timber-framed with brick-built buildings and provide an ICT suite, purpose-built Early Years unit and an environmental garden. Since 1971, when Isfield School closed, Little Horsted has been Isfield's sole primary school. It is fortunate to have 'strong links' with village life and a partnership with the church of St Michael and All Angels on the school's site, as well as St Margaret's, Isfield. The school is proud of its 'warm atmosphere' and is 'a highly motivated community where pupils are encouraged to develop their full potential in a Christian, caring environment'.The school is over-subscribed.
