Background:
Mayfield School is a small village school with 150 children. Mayfield is an extremely attractive village of historic interest set in a picturesque part of East Sussex. The school is situated at the end of the High Street and is an important part of the Community. The main part of the building is Edwardian. In the summer of 1999 the school moved into new extension, which provides with a good size hall, two spacious classrooms and community library. This summer the school have redesigned office accommodation and created a large, flexible additional learning room. There is a good size playground with direct access to a large grassed area belonging to the village. It also provides extra-curricular activities such as stoolball, rounders club, reading club and recorders.
