Background:

Park Mead Primary School is a local education authority maintained school. It has kept its village school ethos and identity, and a significant proportion of pupils come from the surrounding rural areas. Outside, there is a large playing field and two playground areas. The school'site is surrounded by open countryside and has views of the South Downs. Each class has access to at least one computer during lesson time. These enable children to develop the necessary computer skills and appreciate the ranges of uses for ICT. The school has a good range of musical instruments and teaching resources. Music is taught by the classteacher, with extra input from the music adviser for festivals and concerts. A variety of clubs are run for the benefit of the children. These may happen at lunchtime or after school. The school aims to provide a happy, secure, caring and stimulating environment.
