Background:

Parkside Community Primary School was opened in September 1990 in Heathfield, a small rural town set on a high wealden ridge. It occupies a single-storey, brick building with a tiled, pitched roof, on the edge of a modern private housing estate. Many of the children live on the estate others come from further afield. There are two playgrounds, a level playing field, a pond and a woodland walk. It offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These include chess, badminton, football, netball, cookery, recorder ensemble and board games. Children are encouraged to support charities such as Children in Need, St Patrick's Night Shelter and the British Legion. The school aims to create a supportive and secure environment that promotes mutual respect.
