Background:
Firle Church of England School is a Church of England controlled primary school for 4 to 11 year olds, and has 68 children on roll. Firle is a quiet downland village in which the school was founded in 1846 and it occupies original and newer buildings. There are four classrooms, a multi-purpose hall, a library area and a kitchen. There is a large playground and extensive grassed play areas, gardens and sports pitch. Each classroom has at least three computers and an interactive whiteboard. It has several laptop computers, which are used by the older children, and can form a laptop suite if necessary. Children are given many opportunities to develop their creative skills through a wide variety of media and techniques. This school has a large playing field and take part in football and netball matches and tournaments with other nearby schools. Extra-curricular clubs are run voluntarily by staff and parents. These range from football and netball in the winter to basketball and athletics in the summer. The school encompasses a safe, happy, learning environment, based on Christian principles, which will enable everyone involved with Firle Church of England to reach their potential.
