Background:
The school was founded in the 1950s, with a further accommodation built in the 1960s to accommodate growing numbers. It is set in extensive grounds at the foot of the South Downs. Facilities include four playgrounds, a large playing field, two halls, two libraries, an outdoor swimming pool and an ICT suite with 16 PCs. A variety of extra-curricular activities is offered for older pupils and a number of sports teams represent the school in league and friendly fixtures. The active thriving friends association organises fundraising activities and there is an on-site pre-school nursery which is independent of the school but has close links with it. The school aims to help the children to develop a lively and enquiring mind and by so doing realise his or her maximum potential to achieve high standards in every activity that is undertaken.
